About This Journey
Purpose
Happy Health is a personal documentation website that chronicles the patient's breast cancer journey from initial diagnosis through treatment, with the goal of achieving pathological Complete Response (pCR) within the UK healthcare system.
What is pCR?
pCR stands for pathological Complete Response. In layman's terms, it means that after treatment (usually chemotherapy before surgery), when the surgeon examines the removed tissue under a microscope, they find no remaining cancer cells. It's the best possible outcome for treatment.
Why This Website?
Medical reports and consultant letters can be overwhelming, filled with technical terminology that's difficult to understand when you're already dealing with the emotional weight of a cancer diagnosis.
This site serves two purposes:
- Personal Record: A chronological documentation of the journey, with medical information translated into understandable terms.
- Hope for Others: By sharing this journey (when ready), it may help others understand their own path, see what's possible, and feel less alone.
Content Approach
Each entry on this site takes complex medical reports and clinician letters and interprets them in plain English. The tone aims to be:
- Positive - focusing on progress and hope
- Realistic - acknowledging challenges honestly
- Informative - explaining what things actually mean
- Personal - including the human experience alongside the medical facts
Privacy & Anonymization
All medical documents referenced on this site have been carefully anonymized. Personal identifying information, hospital staff names, and specific locations have been removed or generalized to protect privacy.
